The Department of Chinese has formulated a teaching strategy that combines culture along with its application, by focusing on quality and uniqueness. On the basis of consolidating students’ cultural foundation and improving their comprehensive quality, the Department endeavors to develop students’ creative practice and writing ability, systematically arrange multi-level cultural industry creativity, planning and practice, and regularly carry out various literary creations or display activities. Over the last five years, the average rate of Chinese major students’ successful enrollment into graduate school has reached 18 percent. The teaching faculty, within this department are now presiding over four National Social Science Funded projects and one distinguished member of this department has been awarded Lu Xun Literature Award.
